As a former medical doctor and regional HR leader, Gen brings the full spectrum of her experience to her work in Mindfulness and coaching. With over ten years of retreat and daily mindfulness practice, she has personally experienced the benefits and applications of Mindfulness in the areas of well-being and resilience, personal effectiveness, and leadership capability.
Her medical training brings an evidence-based understanding of how Mindfulness can positively affect us mentally, emotionally and biologically. Her HR and corporate background then helps her create practical, accessible and effective content and techniques for the people and companies she works with.
Gen is a qualified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, certified by the Awareness Training Institute (in partnership with the University of California at Berkeley) and a listed teacher of the Hong Kong Mindfulness Teachers Network. She adheres to a recognised standard of practice and ethics, and also has a commitment to her own long time mindfulness and meditation practice.
Gen is also an Accredited Organisational Coach, Level Three (Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership, www.Iecl.com), qualified to coach leaders and emerging talent through key milestones and developmental transitions. Prior to that, she had 15+ years of related experience, working alongside professionals and leaders through their working lives and development journeys in her recruitment/HR roles. Just before transitioning into her current work in 2019, she was the Senior HR Director leading a regional HR team of a Fortune 500 corporation.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family (wife and pet kids), being in nature and practising yoga. She is a voracious reader and also enjoys the child-like joy of watercolour painting.
