Marriage Equality
Marriage equality is the state of having the same rights and responsibilities of marriage as others, regardless of one's sexual orientation or gender identity. We at FELIZ Consulting believe that everyone should have equal rights and opportunities in life.
LGBT+ in the Workplace
Although things have evolved and improved in the world in regards to equality, the LGBT+ community often still faces hostility in the workplace. They experience discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity when applying for jobs, at work and outside. Transgender workers are especially vulnerable to discrimination as they are many times not hired -- or are fired or not promoted -- due to their gender identity or expression.
Fear prevents LGBT+ employees from bringing their "full selves" to work. They often cover or downplay aspects of their authentic selves (e.g., by hiding personal relationships or changing the way they dress, speak or express themselves) in order to avoid discrimination.
An inclusive work culture and workplace determine whether LGBT employees leave or stay.
Today, several countries have protective laws prohibiting discrimination in employment because of sexual orientation and more companies offer benefits to their LGBT+ employees in an inclusive and supportive way. Still, openly LGBT+ corporate leaders are generally rare.
We, at FELIZ Consulting, are proud to work together with organizations that support Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace and outside, like Pink Alliance. We also help organizations to open up and develop a more inclusive culture with our Unconscious Bias trainings, D&I programs and coaching.
Pink Alliance and Equal Love Hong Kong
Pink Alliance is a non-profit organisation, whose mission is to advance dignity, acceptance and equal rights for LGBT+ people in Hong Kong through community engagement and public education.
Together with Pink Alliance, we are glad to announce an initiative, in collaboration with over 40 companies and organizations, called Equal Love Hong Kong - in support to the legal recognition and equal treatment of same-sex relationships in Hong Kong. March 2020 marks the launch of this great initiative!
